Setting your portal to be private or public
An institution can be set to private or public, depending on your institution's needs.

is only accessible to users who have been invited or enrolled in the institution. If someone who was not enrolled tried to visit a private portal via the URL, they would see the below message:
A public portal...
is accessible to anybody who has the portal URL. Anybody who creates an OpenLearning account via the portal will be automatically added as a portal member.
How to change the institution status settings between private and public
Go to your portal's Institution Settings > General
Toggle between Public and Private and click Save.
