Subscribing to a page means that you get notified about:

i. comments at the bottom of the page

ii. any new posts if a post activity has been set up on the page

You can subscribe to a page by clicking on the subscribe button on the bottom for a page.

Note that you will be automatically subscribed to all comments and activity on a page if you are the original creator of the page.
