Feature Request: Edit Student Profile & Access Control for VET Courses

For VET courses, it is critical that student information particularly displayed names remain accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements. Currently, students are able to change their displayed name, which creates significant compliance risks for VET providers.

At present, OpenLearning does not offer administrators the ability to edit student’s displayed name after enrollment. This creates ongoing operational challenges, as we are required to repeatedly request students to revert their names manually, which is inefficient and unreliable.

To address this, we strongly recommend implementing the following features:

• Administrator ability to edit student displayed names after enrollment or restriction on students changing their displayed name for VET courses.
• Option to temporarily suspend a student’s OpenLearning access (Very Important)

The ability to temporarily suspend access is especially critical, as it allows providers to take immediate action in cases of noncompliance or misconduct without permanently removing the student.

These capabilities would significantly improve compliance management and reduce administrative overhead for VET providers.

This is a critical requirement for us, and implementing these features would resolve multiple ongoing issues.
