Remove/Make optional the "Your thoughts on this..." screen when using the Post Text widget

When using the Post Text widget, students enter their response and click "Next".

They are then taken to a "preview" screen which shows them their submission and asks them to input more text into a "Your thoughts on this..." box, before they can post their submission.

Our courses do not have a use for the "Your thoughts on this..." box and we find that students are confused by the box and will often try to copy and paste their response again into the box or leave a confused/vague response.

A version of the widget that either does not have this extra screen or makes it optional would be very useful for us.

We understand that an alternative is to have students leave comments instead of using the Post Text widget but we prefer the widget as it allows more formatting options and uses the Gallery.

I completely agree that a feature to select/deselect this feature would benefit our courses. This can sometimes lead to confusion by participants over what to respond to, or leading to comments made in the reflection rather than the comment box.

We also agree! Would be great if 'Your thoughts' was optional.

Yes, I also agree with this suggestion.  I would like to see the "Your thoughts on this..." box, as an optional choice when using the Post Text Widget.  My students are expressing frustration with it as they wonder why they are being asked to reflect when in fact they have just offered a reflection when they posted using the Post text widget.  I vote for optional choice.

Yes I agree 100%. My learners feedback is that this is confusing and unneccesary

Nearly a year on, this remains a constant point of frustration for us and our participants.

We agree with this post. We had learners abandon the activity because the request to provide additional thoughts on the thoughts they just posted confuses them. It is frustrating that this is the only option if we want to use the widget.

I agree with the other comments. An option to skip "Your thoughts on this ..." box would be great!

Remove this option, or at least make it optional. Quite clunky and unnecessary.

Bumping this, as this seems to be one of the most popular suggested feature, but we have yet to receive word on if this will be implemented or not in the future.

The only real use this extra screen has, is the ability to change groups if in multiple study groups, which to me makes more sense to do when posting the actual response (for example, you could click the profile icon and select your group)
