Offline Mode Text

Hi all, it would be great in the future if the user had the ability to manipulate the offline text displayed when an entire course if offline. For example, if you have already got enrolments, but need to some proper tweaking to content etc, you need to turn the site to offline. At the moment, we get a very blunt "this site is offline" with no ability to add context, personality etc. Would be good to be able to manipulate text to say things like "this site is down for x amount of time and should be back up and running by xx"

Hi James Brann   thanks for your suggestion, we appreciate it.

We can offer a workaround for what you're suggesting. While it's not exactly the same, it might work for you.

Option 1: turn the course online but close the class by setting an End date. (Administer learners > Timeline) This will allow learners to technically still enrol, but they will only be able to see the landing page. Instead of "Join now" they will see "Joined" button. As you know, the landing page is customisable (Course setup > Landing page) so you can upload an image and/or add text of your choice.

Option 2: turn the course online, keep the class open, but set a timeline on all the modules in the future. This will prevent access for learners. The only page that you would leave open to them would be the Homepage which you can customise to your current needs.

Do you think either of these options would work for you?
