How do my learners take an exam on OpenLearning?

What is it?

  • Now that you have successfully created your exam by following the guide here What is Exam on OpenLearning, and where can you create them and here, How do I run an exam on OpenLearning, learners can now launch the exam from the block page

  • Clicking the Start exam now button will launch the new exam environment on OpenLearning

  • Learners can engage with the exams and the questions that you have prepared

  • The exam questions use the same quiz widgets that you see inside the course block pages. It will have the same quiz components such as Multiple choice questions, short answers, categorise, match it, and fill in the blanks. Crossword is currently still not optimised for exams.

Note - If you cannot see this feature within your course it is because it is currently only available to pilot users.

You are allowed to leave an exam and resume it if the time is still available. Please read the following articles about exam states:

If a timer is applied, a notice will appear when there are 60 mins, 30 mins, 10 mins, and 1 min remaining to the exam. The notice will appear as a pNotify banner and will only disappear if the learners press the “x” icon in the banner.

Only the skeleton screen will appear along with a banner that says that the internet connection has been disrupted

We locked the page – users will not be able to interact or make any updates to their exam. We also showed a banner to indicate that their internet connection has been disrupted.
