Settings to check before launching a Private: Manual Enrolment course

It's important to double-check your course settings before going live, to make sure you have completed all the settings required for a Private: Manual Enrolment class.

Go to Course Setup > General > Change Class.

Check that your class type is set to Private: Manual Enrolment.

Make sure that this Private: Manual Enrolment class is set as the default.

This step is optional, but we highly recommend setting a start date where your course goes live in 3-4 weeks' time. This enables you to promote your course and get a group of learners starting together. This article explains in further detail.

Go to Administer Learners > Timeline.

Set the class to be Scheduled and set the start date and time.

If you need to stage the release of your modules, you can do this here in the Class Schedule. Drag the modules to the right to delay the start time.

You can invite learners to a course via their email address.

If the learner you want to add already has an OpenLearning account (and your course is under an institution) you can also quickly add them to a course by searching for their full name or profile name.

To learn more about inviting learners via email, follow the steps in this article: How do I enrol a learner into a private course via their email address?

Once you've checked all of these settings, you can turn your course online by following the steps in this article: How do I turn my course online?
