Students are confused about not receiving e-mail alerts

Would it be possible to temporarily disable the " “Send me an email when I get a notification”  button?

 

Or have a page with this kind of "news" letting people know about such issues.

      Alenka Prezelj You can turn off email notifications by going to your notification settings

      Brooke Hahn I was told that nobody is receiving e-mail notifications (they were disabled due to some technical problems). So even if they have checked this settings, they are still not getting the e-mails. Hence the confusion.
