What are Course Types on OpenLearning?

Course Types are to help classify the kind of courses being offered in the platform.

What are the different Course types?

• Short Course: A short learning experience with or without a completion certificate but with no accreditation. 
• Micro-credential: Micro-credentials is a certification-style qualification that individuals choose to study to improve a skill found in a particular industry area. These are short, low-cost online courses that provide learners with a digital certification or a ‘digital badge’ when complete.
• Other: Choosing this option will hide the course type from the course landing page. You can choose this for any non-short course and micro-credential as a third option.

How do I set up a course as a Micro-credential or a Short Course?

Step 1

Go to Course Promo > Marketplace.

Step 2

Choose a Course type, then click Save.
