Conditional Access for Certain Module (e.g.: Final Assessment) Based on Minimum Course Progress (for Schedule Class Pacing)
This feature enables administrators or course creators to restrict learner access to the Final Assessment module until a specified minimum course progress threshold is achieved (e.g., 50%).
Under the current structure, learners may access the final assessment even if they have not meaningfully engaged with the learning materials. This feature would introduce a progress-based access control, ensuring that learners complete a minimum portion of the course before attempting the final assessment.
With this feature enabled, the LMS will automatically verify the learner’s overall course progress (e.g., completion of learning activities, instructional materials, videos, discussions, and quizzes). If the learner’s progress is below the defined threshold (e.g., <50%), access to the Final Assessment module will be locked and the learner will receive a notification indicating that they must complete additional learning components before the assessment becomes available.
Key Functionalities:
Ability to set a minimum progress requirement (e.g., 50%) for accessing the Final Assessment.
Automatic system validation of learner progress before granting access.
Access restriction when progress is below the defined threshold.
Clear learner notification indicating the remaining progress required.
Configurable setting at course or module level by instructors or administrators.
Expected Benefits:
Encourages meaningful learner engagement with course materials.
Ensures alignment between learning participation and assessment eligibility.
Supports academic quality assurance in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) environments.
Prevents learners from bypassing learning activities and directly attempting final assessments.
