Thumbnails are Blurry

Thumbnails are always pixelated - not matter what! 馃槺

    Course thumbnails on institution pages are pixelated. It is especially noticeable when using a gradient or vector illustration. This can be seen on the teach.com.au portal

      Hi Rommany, can you attach some of the images that you were trying to use as course thumbnails? (The ones that pixelated badly). The developers would like a few files to test with. It'll be useful if they can see the drop in quality before and after.

    Here's a comparison between the course thumbnail on a portal page and the preview picture of that same thumbnail on the general setup page.

    Also included the files I used so you can reproduce the issue easily.

    A partial fix for this has been released. The image sizes have been doubled to accommodate retina screens.

    However, it seems that some of the images uploaded as PNGs are being converted to JPEGs for compression. This is causing the artefacts. There is a second part to this fix pending.
