How do I change the wording on the "Join Now" button?

You can customise the default Join Now button text on your course landing page to display any wording you prefer. In addition, you can display a customised message on your course landing page specifically for unenrolled learners.

Protip: Depending on your course setup on OpenLearning, customising the default Join Now text and adding a custom message creates a much clearer experience for prospective learners:

  • External enrolment forms: If you direct learners to an external registration or intake form, change the button label to Click here to access form, and use the custom message to explain the external intake process.
  • Future classes or upcoming cohorts: If your class starts at a later date but early enrolment is open, change the label to Pre-enrol Now or Reserve Your Spot.
  • Paid courses: Change the label to Buy Course or Enrol Today to set clear expectations before checkout.
  • Mandatory internal training: Change the label to Start Training or Begin Assessment.

Updating these settings ensures your course landing page provides clear expectations and accurate instructions for all prospective learners.

To change the wording on the Join Now button on your course landing page, follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Go to Course setup > Advanced > Enrolments.

Locate the Custom label for "Join Now" button field.

Enter your preferred button text (for example, Enrol Today, Fill out Application, or Pre-enrol Now). Your changes will save automatically.

Note: You can use this setting even if you are not currently using External enrolments.

In addition to customising the button label, you can set a custom message on your course landing page to provide extra context or instructions for prospective learners before they enrol.

Go to Course setup > Advanced > Enrolments.

Locate the Custom landing page message for unenrolled learners field.

Enter your customised text message. Your changes will save automatically.
