Change user name (not display name)

I would like to change my username seen in the url to my profile and on login. I have already changed my display name. I would like my username to match the change in my legal name. I didn't see a way to do this in the help or in the account/profile settings.

Is there a way to do this?

    Hi Jenny! Unfortunately it is not possible to change your username/URL. The only way to create a new username would be to create a new account with that username.

      Alenka Prezelj I was registered and watching https://www.openlearning.com/courses/algebraic-calculus-one, occasionally but that is closed to new accounts.

      Jenny Squibb I see, thank you for clarifying. You are correct, the course does not accept new enrolments anymore. But I'm still not sure I understand what the issue is. You can still continue with the course using the account (and username) you already have. It's the display name (currently your display name is Jenny Squibb)  that is displayed next to your posts and what appears on the certificate (if any). The only space where the username is visible is in the URL of the profile page. I hope this clarifies and helps - if I'm missing something, please let me know - I'll be happy to help.
