What are OL Analytics and how do I use them?

OpenLearning analytics offer teachers some insight on how and what learners are doing in their course. This data could prove helpful in analysing your learners' engagement levels and aiding the facilitation of your course.

You can find this data by going to Administer Learners > Statistics

Learner Progress Overview

See the number of learners that have completed a certain percentage of the course.

Page engagement

Understand learners engagement at a page level.

See fluctuations in learner activity by clicking on the students tab

In the learners tab, scroll down to see a world map that indicates where the majority of your learners are located.

See when your learners are commenting the most vs. when they're commenting the least.

Hi, is there are learning analytic (LA) for video view by the student? like information total view, video percentage view so we might know either the student did view the video until finish or only part of the video is viewed?

UTeM MOOC Hi there, unfortunately, that is not possible. When you think about it, even if there was a feature that would give you the information whether the student played the whole video or not, there is no way you can tell if they truly watched the video or left the room in the mean time. :) To check if the students watched the video, we suggest creating activities based on the video, ie that would require knowing the material presented in the video.

Hi! Is there anyone who can help me with an excel formula that transforms the 'TIME SPENT ON COURSE' from string values to time values that can be graphically represented? Thank you!
