Chat not working even when enabled
Hello, my chat stopped working a few days ago. I have checked your advice at : https://help.openlearning.com/t/36dwbc/how-do-i-enable-chat-or-direct-messaging and can confirm that my chat is enabled. Attached is Screenshot1 of that.
But when I use the chat room feature I get an error message saying "Message could not be sent. Click to resend." When I do click to resend the message disappears.
I am using the latest version of Chrome. I also checked in firefox and it doesn't work there either.
The error message that is returned when I am trying to send the chat messages is :
reason | "participants of conversation have no common cohort with chat enabled" |
success | false |
See Screenshot3.

Hi Nick!
The chat only works if enabled by the recipient and if their privacy settings allow it. It seems that you are trying to send a message to someone who you are not in the same class with and their privacy settings don't allow it. If you'd like we can test this from our side. Could you share the name of the person you're trying to send a message to? You can send it to support@openlearning.com
Thanks!

Hi, the chat does not even show up on the right hand side of web pages. It has been totally disabled.

I cannot send messages to any of my classmates or my instructor. It is like I have been diabled from that course.

I get a 403 "forbidden" in the browser developer tools for this request: https://www.openlearning.com/json/course/read/getEnabledWidgetIntegrationProviders/unswcourses/courses/cyberfoundations/
Not sure if that is relevant but might help.
