This article explains how to set up a pay-to-enrol class. 

Course enrolments can be charged in one of the following currencies:

• AUD
• MYR
• SGD
• USD

How to set up a paid class

Step 1

Go to Course Setup > General and scroll down to Classes in Your Course.

Step 2

Click on Edit.

Step 3

Select the Paid option underneath Enrolment Cost, set your course fee, and click Save if you do you do not wish to allow learners to pay via the iOS app store. 

Note: The Paid option is only available for Public classes.

If you would also like to allow learners to pay for your course via the iOS app store there are a couple more steps to follow.

By default, paid courses are not available for purchase via iOS devices. This is because Apple has special guidelines around the way content and services are priced in their store. You can learn more about this on their website here.

Therefore, if you would like your course to be available for purchase via iOS devices, you must set up a price that is within their pricing structure. (e.g. $ 19.99, not $ 20, etc) The next two steps will instruct you on how to set this up.

Step 4

To set up your paid course for iOS, tick the box next to Allow learners to discover and pay for my course through the iOS app store.

Step 5

Once that box is ticked, a new section will appear beneath it prompting you to choose your iOS pricing tier. Toggle the menu in order to choose one.

Don't forget to click Save once you're done!

How to access your course earnings

For course providers/institutions using OpenLearing’s payment gateway, OpenLearning collects all learners' enrolment fees on the course creators’ behalf and then transfers the funds to course creators on a monthly basis

Before you start collecting enrolments in a paid course, you need to email support@openlearning.com your payment details such as your PayPal email address (preferably as no transaction fee incurred at the moment) or bank account details where you would like to receive the earnings.

Funds are transferred to your nominated account within 10-15 days after the month-end. You will receive an email notification with details of payment after the funds' transfer has been affected. (Please note, in cases where there are recurring monthly enrolments or voluminous enrolments, we will provide the course earning schedule for your reconciliation and then arrange payment upon the receipt of your invoice.)

How can my learner pay for the course?

Currently, we offer the following forms of payment:

• Paypal
• Credit card (Visa, Mastercard)
• MOLPay (only available if the price of the course is in Malaysian Ringgit)
• manual invoice for bulk enrolment (Can an organisation pay for course enrolments via an invoice?)

Are there any fees deducted from my earnings?

Yes. See below:

Fixed per payment fee	AUD 0.30, SGD 0.50, USD 0.30 or MYR 2.00.	AUD 0.30, SGD 0.50, USD 0.30 or MYR 2.00.

*Processing fees depend on the currency and the payment method of the learner who pays for the course.

The following percentage charges are current as of [25/01/2021] and are subject to changes by the payment gateway providers.

Courses in AUD

• 1.75% Payment Processing Fee if the learner pays via credit card through Braintree

• 2.60% Payment Processing Fee if the learner pays via PayPal

• 3.00% Payment Processing Fee if the learner pays via bank payment through a manual invoice**

• If the learner chooses to pay using a credit card through the link in the invoice instead, that comes with a surcharge of 1.75%, which will create a total of 4.75% in fees.

**Manual Invoicing includes the administration fee of raising invoices and inviting learner to the corresponding courses once the payment has been made. At the moment, batch enrolments are only available to Courses in AUD.

Courses in SGD

• 3.90% Payment Processing Fee if the learner pays via credit card through Braintree

• 3.60% Payment Processing Fee if the learner pays via PayPal.

Courses in USD

• 3.90% Payment Processing Fee if the learner pays via credit card through Braintree

• 3.60% Payment Processing Fee if the learner pays via PayPal.

Courses in MYR

• 3.40% Payment Processing Fee if the learner pays via credit card through Braintree

• 3.90% Payment Processing Fee if the learner pays via PayPal

• 3.80% Payment Processing Fee if the learner pays via MOLPAY/Razer.
