Course percentages drop after new module introduced

Anyone know what I've done wrong? My course has been completed by many people who were at 100%.

I added a new module which dropped the 100% to around 75% on Thursday last week. Today every single person has had a percentage drop to 12.5% so instead of being able to complete the new module and get their 100% back, it looks like they all have to do the majority of the course again.

When you go into a person's module who is not completed, it shows it is completed and ticked or the answers are there they just have to tick the check box again.

Help! Can you not add new modules to existing courses without it cancelling completed answers? Or is this an Open Learning glitch?

Hi Jill! Yes, adding new content and task affects the student progress. Let's say you have 10 tasks that lead up to 100%, then you add 10 more, anyone who has completed the first 10  will now have 50%.

    You can either:

    - post an announcement asking students to go back and complete the new tasks

    - remove tracking progress for the new tasks you added

Let me know if you need any further questions.

Alenka Prezelj  Thanks for your response Alenka.

I'm still confused as to why questions they had already answered correctly are now no longer correct. It's not just the new tasks they have to do, because that would be ok. It's every other question they had already completed is now wrong which is why I was expecting the percentage to go down to maybe 75% but after adding that module, everyone lost existing answers and have to redo practically the entire course. Is it possible something has gone wrong?

Citipointe Church Instructor hmm I'm not sure we're on the same page. The percentage is not about right or wrong answers, it's about complete or incomplete tasks. (text viewed, questions answered, videos watched etc) If you want me to take a closer look at your course, please send me the link and the name of one of your students that has lost existing answers.

      Alenka Prezelj

Thanks Alenka - you have already joined my course - it's invitation only (Working with Children and Highschoolers Training). I would say every single person has lost where they were up to. I know  what you mean in that it's not about right or wrong answers it's about completing the task. I'm saying they all had completed the tasks  (there are no videos)  that is they were 100% or 2/2 or 3/3 or 4/4  and now tasks that were completed (not the new modules the existing modules) are now 1/2 and 1/4. They have lost where they are up to.

I do not want to name people in the open like this - how can I message you privately?
