How do I set a passing score to issue the certificate?
When to use this feature
This feature is ideal when your course includes an assessment and you want learners to achieve a minimum passing score before receiving their certificate. It ensures that only those who meet the required standards are awarded certification.
Important Considerations for Using This Feature
A few points to be considered when using this feature:
- The course must include an assessment, as the passing score relies significantly on the assessment results. Refer to the assessment report articles for guidance on creating assessments in the course.
- All assessment results must be released, otherwise, this feature won't work properly. Refer to the How do I release assessment results in batches article on how to release the result.
- Once the passing score is set, it will apply to all classes within the course.
How to set the passing score
Step 1
Navigate to Credentials > Setup menu.
Step 2
Select “On passing score” as the credential issuance method.
Step 3
Enter the required passing score (Note: This score will apply to all classes within the course).
Step 4
Click Save.
How do the learners view the passing score
Learners can view the required passing score for a course on the progress page. For guidance on locating the progress page, please refer to the What Is a Learner's Progress Page? article.
Why can't the learner see the score even after it's been graded
The learner's score still shows as 0, even after the educator has graded the assessment. This happens because the results have not been released yet. To release the results, refer to the How do I release assessment results in batches article. Once released, the score will be highlighted in green, as shown in the screenshot below.
The correct score will be reflected on the learner's progress page.
The learner can download the certificate once the minimum passing score has been achieved.
