As you create your course, you build out and set up some of the following elements: 

• Learning outcomes
• Modules
• Module sets (advanced)
• Pages with activities and content
• Progress on pages
• Course landing page

This is the WHAT of your course.

These are set up at the course level. Any changes you make to these elements will affect all learners within your course.

A class refers to a cohort of learners who complete a course together. All learner-generated content and artifacts (i.e. comments, likes, shares, posts) are only visible to others within the same class.

This is the WHO of your course.

For example, a learner in Class A can only see comments, likes, shares and posts of other learners within Class A.

You can have multiple classes running at the same time or running at different times. For example, you might have a cohort of learners that joined the August class; these learners would be separated to a cohort of learners that joined the September class and so on.

Or, you might have a paid class - where learners pay to enrol; as well as a private class that you offer for certain users for free.

There are also features of the platform that are class-specific - i.e. you can tailor and use these features specifically for each class. Some of these elements are:

• Announcements
• Statistics
• Timeline
• Assessments
• Groups
