Survey widget - limiting responses and more

Currently when creating a survey within OpenLearning, there is no option to limit one response per participant. This is troublesome for collecting evaluation information, as often we have found duplicate responses that only vary slightly - often seconds apart, signifying many users are simply clicking the button multiple times as they are unsure if their previous survey was submitted.

In general too, it feels like the survey feature is a little clunky in its design, particularly when creating larger surveys like we have been.

Some further suggestions

  • checkbox list as one component, similar to table of answers
  • ability to duplicate a component
  • each component containing a question, so it is not counted as a separate entity, particularly when exporting.
  • branching answers, similar to Google or Microsoft forms

I feel like looking into this feature would present some excellent benefits to course designers!

Thank you :)

We also have repeated issues with duplicated responses. Sometimes a survey is submitted 4-5 times!

I strongly support this suggestion. We regularly have surveys submitted several times by the same person because the 'Submitted' message that appears once the Submit button is clicked disappears when you leave the page and revisit it. That's why learners are unsure whether they submitted the survey and press the button again....and again....
