Why haven't I received my certificate?

There are a few reasons why you may not have received a certificate via email. Below are a few possible causes and solutions.

Sometimes you will reach the last page of the course, but your green progress bar is not at 100%. This may mean you’ve missed an activity along the way. Check out the following help article for more information on how to complete your course. Once you’ve reached 100% in the course, the certificate should be emailed to you.

How do I gain 100% completion in a course?

Sometimes emails from OpenLearning are sent to the wrong email folder by accident. Try checking your spam or other email folders to make sure your certificate didn’t end up in the wrong spot.

Whitelisting OpenLearning’s email address may help prevent these types of issues in the future!

Even if you haven’t received the certificate via email, you may still be able to access it by going to your profile page and clicking on the Credentials tab. Here you will find a list of all of your certificates available for download!

Your certificate is automatically sent to the email address associated with your OpenLearning account. Please make sure you are checking the right email account!

If you aren’t sure which email address is associated with your account, click on your profile picture in the upper right and toggle to Account settings in order to check.

Not all courses offer certification. To learn more, please check out this help article:

Can I get a certificate for doing a course?

If the course administrator has set up a paid certification, you will need to click on Get certified in the lefthand menu when you are ready to pay for the certificate. To learn more, please check out this help article:

When do I receive my paid certificate?

Some courses require the certificate to be manually distributed by your course administrator. In this case, when you complete the course and select your green progress bar, you will see Certification pending underneath the certification section of your progress page.

Please wait a few days for your course administrator to issue your certificate.

If you do not receive it, you can contact them via their profile page, a course comment, or their email address (if you have it) in order to inquire about your certification.

To learn more about how to contact your course administrator, check out this article:

Who do I contact when I have a course-specific query?

If your settings are set up for you to receive a daily digest, the certificate will be emailed in the next daily digest, unless you have enabled individual e-mails.
